Bundling raises average order value when the combination is something the customer would have wanted anyway. When it is not, you are discounting and calling it merchandising.
The options
Shopify Bundles — free and first-party. Fixed bundles with inventory tracked correctly. Start here.
Fast Bundle — flexible, handles mix-and-match and volume discounts, widely used.
Bundler — straightforward, cheap, good for simple quantity and set bundles.
Rebuy — more than bundling; a personalisation engine with bundle capability. Powerful and correspondingly priced.
Simple Bundles — good at bundles that need to ship as separate SKUs, which matters if your 3PL picks individual items.

What makes a bundle work
It matches a real routine. Cleanser with serum. Device with refill. Starter set for a beginner. The bundle removes a decision the customer was going to make anyway.
The saving is legible. Show the component prices and the bundle price. A bundle whose value is not obvious does nothing.
It does not compete with the product. The most common mistake we find is an accessory sold separately on the product page, pulling attention from the main decision. Turning that into a reason to buy the bigger bundle fixes both at once.
Before installing anything, check whether a pack ladder would do the job. For consumables, priced tiers with visible unit cost usually raise AOV more reliably than bundles and need no app at all.
