Health & Supplements

Supplement and wellness brands sell a product people have to believe in before they will swallow it, and buy again before it earns anything. We build Shopify stores for that: pages that make the science legible, a subscription offer worth taking, and a repeat-purchase engine behind it.

What is different about this category

Supplement ecommerce is a repeat-purchase business wearing a first-purchase storefront. Most of the money is in month three, not day one, which changes what the product page has to do: it has to justify a habit, not a transaction. Add compliance limits on what you can claim and a category where trust is the actual product, and generic Shopify CRO advice stops applying.

Where it gets hard

The problems this category actually has.

Each one is the same shape: the version that leaks money on the left, the version that converts on the right.

Compliance fights clarity

Regulators push you toward cautious language, and most brands overcorrect until the page reads as though nothing works. The result is technically safe and commercially dead. The skill is finding the claims you can make — third-party testing, ingredient dosages, published studies — and leading with those instead of hedged adjectives.

Subscription is asked for too early

Most of the category pushes subscribe-or-not onto the buyer before they have decided to buy at all. That stacks two decisions into one at the exact moment you need a single clear path. Where subscription sits, what it saves, and how easily it can be cancelled decide whether it helps or costs you the first order.

Information density

Ingredients, dosage, sourcing, certifications and testing all have to be present, accurate and readable at once. Cram them in and the page overwhelms; leave them out and nobody trusts you enough to buy. Structure carries this, not copywriting.

Repeat purchase is the whole business

A supplement customer who does not reorder is barely profitable after acquisition cost. Post-purchase flows, replenishment timing and the reorder path matter more than any hero-section change, and they are where most stores have done the least work.

How we build for it

What we do differently here.

Each one shown as it runs on a store we built — not an illustration of the idea.

01

Lead with what you can prove

Third-party test results, ingredient dosages and certifications surfaced next to the buy button rather than buried in an accordion. Specific and verifiable beats confident and vague, and it survives compliance review.

02

Price the subscription honestly

Show the per-serving cost, what subscribing saves, and how to cancel — on the page, not in a policy. A subscription a buyer understands is one they keep.

03

Structure the science

Tabs and sectioned content so the buyer who wants the study can reach it and the buyer who does not is never blocked by it.

04

Build for the second order

Replenishment timing, post-purchase education and a reorder path that takes one tap. The store should be designed around the customer who is already convinced.

Common questions

Health & Supplements, answered.

We work within them daily and we design around them rather than testing their limits. We are not your regulatory advisor — your compliance counsel signs off on claim language — but we will structure the page so the claims you can legitimately make do the selling, and flag copy that looks likely to cause you a problem.

It depends on your billing complexity and what you already run. Shopify Subscriptions is enough for straightforward replenishment; Recharge earns its cost when you need real flexibility in swaps, skips and dunning. We will tell you when the cheaper option is genuinely sufficient — most brands are paying for tiers they never use.

A new Shopify build runs 4 to 8 weeks, Shopify Plus and headless 8 to 16. A CRO redesign of an existing store is usually 3 to 5 weeks. Subscription logic and ingredient content are the two things that most often extend a supplement timeline, so we scope them explicitly up front.

Usually, yes — and it is normally the right first move. A CRO audit finds where the current store leaks, and the fixes are often structural rather than visual: the pack ladder, the subscription framing, where proof sits relative to the price. We would rather sell you the audit and the changes it justifies than a rebuild you may not need.
