These two get compared constantly and they solve different problems. Knowing which problem you have makes the choice obvious.
What each one is
Rebuy is a personalisation and merchandising engine. Recommendations on the product page, in the cart, at checkout and post-purchase, driven by rules and behavioural data. Its job is to put the right additional product in front of the right person.
Zipify is two products. OCU (One Click Upsell) handles post-purchase offers — a one-click add after the order is placed, no re-entry of payment. Pages is a landing page builder for funnels and advertorials.
So: Rebuy makes your existing pages merchandise better. Zipify adds a post-purchase step and builds pages outside your theme.
Where each earns its money
| You want | Reach for |
|---|---|
| Smarter cross-sell across the whole journey | Rebuy |
| A one-click add immediately after purchase | Zipify OCU |
| Advertorial and funnel landing pages fast | Zipify Pages |
| Cart drawer that merchandises | Rebuy |
| Post-purchase offers with no checkout friction | Zipify OCU |
| Bundle and volume logic on the PDP | Rebuy |
Plenty of stores run both. Rebuy for the pre-purchase journey, OCU for the post-purchase offer.
The honest assessment of each
Rebuy is powerful and it is possible to spend a lot of time configuring it for a modest result. The wins come from a few well-placed, well-targeted recommendations, not from turning on every widget. It also adds script weight — worth checking against your Core Web Vitals after install.
Pricing scales with order volume and it gets meaningful at scale.
Zipify OCU has the cleanest value proposition in the category: a post-purchase offer costs nothing in conversion risk, because the order is already placed. If it converts at even a small rate it is pure incremental AOV. This is one of the few apps we recommend almost unconditionally for consumable categories.
Zipify Pages is a page builder, with the trade-offs every page builder has. Fast to produce, heavier than theme-native pages, and it creates a parallel set of templates that drift from your design system over time. Fine for campaign pages. Not where your core catalogue should live.
Both add JavaScript. Measure page speed before and after. We have audited stores where the AOV gain from an upsell app was smaller than the conversion loss from the weight it added, and nobody had checked.
What we would actually do
If AOV is the problem, fix the pack and pricing structure on the product page first. That is free, it loads nothing, and in our experience it moves AOV further than either app.
Then add Zipify OCU for the post-purchase offer, because the downside risk is close to zero.
Then consider Rebuy, if you have the product range for recommendations to be genuinely useful and someone to own the configuration.
Talk it through
Tell us your AOV and your product range size.
Range size largely decides whether recommendation personalisation is worth the subscription, and we will say if it is not.
